Alpine Crossing
A long-cherished vision becomes reality: the year-round connection between Zermatt and the Italian resort of Cervinia, thanks to the Matterhorn Alpine Crossing. As the final piece of the jigsaw, in summer 2023 the Matterhorn Glacier Ride ll allow the highest continuous Alpine crossing by cable car. The modern tri-cable cable car connects the Little Matterhorn mountain station with Testa Grigia in Italy. After the opening of the Matterhorn Glacier Ride l in autumn 2018, the Matterhorn Glacier Ride ll will realise the seamless connection between the two destinations that has been hoped for more than 80 years.
